About Us

Welcome and thanks for visiting!

We are River and Sky, two friends in our 50’s with a passion for living life to the fullest, now and well into the future!

In this blog we share our experiences, tips, and encouragement to help others live in the best way possible. We chronicle our journey through our 50s, with a focus on how we stay fit, stay sharp, eat healthy, and travel to experience the world (or our own back yard) as much as possible.

You won’t see our names and faces, as we value our privacy and that of our friends and families. But we are real people living in the southern United States. The places we visit are real, as are the photos and experiences that we share.

We hope you will join us along the way, and would love to hear your experiences, comments, and questions!

Hi, I’m River. I believe that no matter how much you’ve seen and done, there is always more to learn in life –both from nature and from other people. And nobody inspires me more to stay curious and active than Sky. There is always a new trail to explore, a new lesson to learn, and a new sunrise to see. I’ve worked hard and had good fortune most of my life, so now it’s time to give back where I can, and then seek out life’s next adventures.

Hi, I’m Sky. I’m full of energy and I’m always up for an adventure, whether it’s finding a new trail, trying a new tea, or learning how to say something (probably awkward) in German. I’m usually optimistic, with a few clouds here and there, and I feel most alive when I’m out walking for miles with River by my side.

We like to start the day with a good cup of coffee—strong, hot, and ideally outside. I tend to keep River on his toes—one day I’m diving into crystal energy, the next I’m talking about psychology or finding a new recipe to try. Luckily, he usually plays along. I believe a healthy life is about moving often, laughing freely, staying curious—and yes, enjoying the occasional glass of wine at the end of the day. There’s always something new to explore, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
